Microsoft update 03.2020 on Windows server 2016: Adobe Reader crashes when requesting a printout

Microsoft update 03.2020 on Windows server 2016: Adobe Reader crashes when requesting a print.

We noticed that the deployment of the March 2020 monthly patch update was causing problems on Adobe Reader.
All versions of Adobe Reader are affected.

On the other hand

If you open a PDF using a browser such as Chrome, you can print from the Chrome print dialog box

Phenomenon:
  • You ask to print a PDF document, an error message appears saying that "Adobe has stopped working, Windows is looking for a solution...". Of course, Windows will never find a solution.

In Terminal server mode:

  • All or only some users are impacted.
  • Removing Adobe directories in Appdata does not work
  • Uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe, regardless of version, does not change anything. We have done tests with Adobe XI and DC.

A solution
  • Uninstalling the 03-2020 package

Problem

you no longer benefit from security patches and enhancements.

We're looking for other solutions that incorporate the 03-2020 fix, unless the 04-2020 fixes that?
